Stage 1
Stage 1 was named after Australia’s renowned silent era film director, Raymond Longford. Longford was an icon in the early days of motion pictures during this era. From Raymond’s first feature in 1911, The Fatal Wedding to The Sentimental Bloke in 1919 and his final feature, The Man They Could Not Hang in 1935, Raymond is immortalised in the Australian entertainment industry for his unwavering commitment to excellence. Stage 1 is a tribute to this remarkable man and provides productions with 38,000 sqft (3,535 sqm) of clear span floor space.
Whether it is Baz Luhrmann’s Australia, Stealth’s Fleet Command Ship, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in X-Men Origins or Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns, Stage 1 has the history, capacity and shooting mood for mostly any production requirement.
